This video gives you tips on how to get those difficult slices balls back into play. This is a more advanced video on defending in padel, as we assume your opponent can play attacking slice shots (usually a volley or slice smash or bajada).

Mastering the back glass is the key to defending in padel. Once you understand your court position and how to get behind the ball for these shots, it also makes it easier to hit the double glass shots.

The keys to success with this shot are about early preparation with the feet, compact take back and then just “guiding the ball” with your shot to get the ball back – you do not need to generate more power on your shot.
