The Back Glass in Padel #2

How to play with the back glass in padel?

As explained in the first back glass article, the back glass plays a major part in the game of padel. You should be comfortable with reading and playing the glass to become a better padel player. The glass bounces back the ball in different ways, if the ball comes in a straight line, it bounces back (almost) in that same line. However, if the ball comes on the glass with an angle, it is obvious that the ball also comes back with an angle. The success factor for this shot is to read where the ball will go after it bounces of the glass. If you know where the ball will eventually go, you can make sure that you are in a good position to hit the ball with the given tips in the first part of this series.

Instead of going towards the ball, you can better give yourself more room to anticipate where it is going. If you take a step back and read where the ball is coming, it is easier to position yourself in a good way because stepping towards the ball is easier then stepping away from the ball when it comes your way. The biggest mistake is that people don’t make enough space for themselves and the ball comes straight into them which results in them not being able to hit the ball properly.
