How to volley to the fence?
These 2 types of volley to the fence are a great way to attack the net. The fence is the least predictable part of the court, therefore it makes sense to aim for it during a point…on the right ball!!
The 2 types of volley to the fence are:
With a dropshot
As the fence is involved the dropshot does not need to have as much spin or be was risky as a normal dropshot. You can hit a bit higher, aiming for the 2nd bounce to land on the fence or around where the fence contacts the ground.
Fast, Slice Volley
This is when you receive a slightly easier ball to the outside of the body, you have the space to contact round the ball and hit down to the space before the fence. Again, this does not need to be risky, it just needs a little slice, medium or fast pace and a target so the ball contacts the fence after the first bounce.
