Does The Bandeja Need Spin?

Spin on the bandeja: how do you do that?

Please accept statistics, marketing cookies to watch this video.

The direction and the speed of the bandeja is the most important, but a little spin will help. Which spin do you need to use? How much? And why? Sandy will tell you everything about spin at your bandeja in this video!

Focus points

Their a two things you need to focus on at the bandeja:

  • The speed
  • The direction

If you get these two points right, you will have an effective bandeja!

Amount of spin

The first thing to know is that you don’t need a lot of spin. If your speed and direction is right, you could just benefit from having a little bit of slice. Start with your racket above the contact point. Make contact with the ball with an open racket face. With an open racket face you will create enough slice and you don’t need to focus on putting slice on it.

Common error

A common error on this shot is having a bent elbow. If you have a bent elbow and you take the racket back, you have to go up to make contact with the ball. It will be physically impossible to hit slice on your bandeja if you are going up to your contact.

Right and left side

Depending on what side of the court you are standing on, you need to keep some things in mind. When you are on the right side, you need to know the following points:

  • Contact is slightly closer to your body
  • Contact is slightly higher
  • Come around the outside of the ball
  • Contact slightly flatter

When you are on the left side, you need to know the following points:

Use a slow vibora technique. The use of elbow extension and brush outside of the ball

Movement

To hit a good bandeja with some spin you need to move back far enough. You have to do this so you can get contact with the ball in front of you.
