The four common errors are:

  • Contacting behind the body
  • Contacting too high
  • Hitting too hard
  • The wrong swing path

There are a few things that you can do to improve the bandeja. We will discuss this below.

Improvement #1

If you move back exaggerate and move back behind the ball, you will solve more than one of those common errors. You need to make contact with the ball in front of your body. If you do this it will be easier to make contact in forehead- or eye level. It is also easier to recover up to net position.

Improvement #2

Another way to improve your bandeja is to exaggerate your arm position during the take back. If you want to improve this it is necessary to record yourself, so you can watch back if your elbow is high enough. You want to have a swing path from high to low!

Bonus tip

A bonus tip for keeping your bandeja low at the other end is to make sure that you really go through the ball. You want a slightly open racket face in order to generate spin. This shot is a great shot to practice during your social games.
