The vibora is usually played when your opponents play an easy lob and your still pretty close to the net. From this position you are able to be more aggressive with your smash. You can choose to hit a bandeja as well, but the vibora is slightly more aggressive which can put your opponents under more pressure.

The main difference between the vibora and the bandeja is that the vibora you hit the ball at the outside and a bandeja you hit the ball from under.
