The Vibora is known as the attacking slice smash. The objective of the Vibora is to play it aggressively with slice in the corner. There are two main types of Vibora you can play.

Low contact Vibora

At the low contact Vibora the contact point with the ball is at head height. The ball will stay down in the corner after the first bounce.

High contact Vibora

At the high contact Vibora you hit the ball a bit above head height. The ball comes off a little bit faster and it will almost hit the side fence.

For a good Vibora make sure to take an extra step back so that you are behind the ball. When the ball comes at you, contact the ball in front of you and try to hit it a bit lower. The low contact Vibora is a bit more important because it stays low to the ground. Hitting it in front of you allows your body to move back again to the net position.

A common error is that players think a Vibora should be played as hard as possible. This isn’t necessary because a technically good performed Vibora but a little slower, can be effective as well. Even if it’s not a winner, your opponent has to play the ball up because it is so low to the ground. So, try to play the ball with the right amount of speed and spin in the corner. This will keep your opponent in the corner and will give you an easier ball to play at net.
