🎾 The Mental Toughness Course

Your technique matters. So does what happens between the points

Many padel players perform confidently during practice but struggle to reproduce the same level when the score begins to matter.

A mistake creates frustration. Nerves affect decision-making. Confidence disappears after losing several points, while tension between partners can make a difficult match even harder.

The Mental Toughness Course helps you understand and manage those moments. The course combines realistic padel situations with practical psychological strategies for developing confidence, focus and resilience.

The Padel School created the course with sports psychologist JJ Smith, who has helped elite athletes, including Olympic medallists, improve their mental performance.

Through 21 structured video lessons, you will learn how to reset after mistakes, manage pressure, communicate more effectively and develop routines that support more consistent performance.

Dr Jonathan Smith
Performance Psychologist

Jonathan has spent the last decade working with Olympic, Paralympic and professional athletes. He supported the ParalympicsGB team from Rio through to Paris, and is currently working towards the LA 2028 Games.

The mental side of sport is not something only pros deal with. If you have ever played a great first set and then fallen apart in the second, tightened up on an easy smash, or spent three games arguing with yourself instead of watching the ball, you have already met the problem. It just does not have a coach standing next to you when it happens.

That is what this course is for. Jonathan takes the methods he uses with elite athletes and translates them into practical tools you can use in a Tuesday-night club match. How to reset between points. How to stay in the game when your partner is having a bad day, or when you are. How to handle the pressure of a tight scoreline without your technique falling apart.

You do not need to be chasing a ranking to benefit from this. You just need to want to play closer to your best, more often.
