The Padel School Goes to Germany to Deliver Coach Education
The Padel School travelled to Germany to deliver coach education at Padel City.
In this article, we share a little about the trip and the coaching philosophy behind the sessions.
Our coach education team spent three days in Germany. The coaches had varying amounts of coaching and padel experience, but they were keen to learn and develop their skills.
They were looking for the know-how to help their players break plateaus and play at a higher level. They also wanted to know how to make the most of initial coaching sessions, which can be important to a club’s success.
While we were there, we witnessed several “aha!” moments from coaches and players alike, which made the trip immediately worthwhile.
A central part of our approach is practical learning. Rather than relying heavily on classroom time, we want coaches to spend time on court applying ideas and understanding how to deliver them.
We deliver in a way designed to support different learning preferences, combining demonstration, explanation and practice.
Over the three days, we covered padel techniques and strategies, but a major focus was teaching coaches how to deliver effective lessons rather than simply teaching them how to play.
Coach education is an important part of successful clubs. Better-supported coaches can create clearer player pathways, more consistent sessions and a stronger learning environment.
Great clubs need great coaches who can develop great players. A padel club is more than courts and bookings; it can become a community built around learning, development and enjoyment.
