An Interactive Way to Develop Padel Skills
One-day workshops can be a valuable way for coaches and players to spend concentrated time on a particular part of the game.
Our workshops combined demonstrations, practical drills, coached sessions and opportunities to discuss why particular techniques or tactics work.
The aim was not simply to give attendees more drills. It was to help them understand how to structure practice and how to take ideas back to their own players or training groups.
Who benefited from the workshops?
We welcomed existing coaches who wanted new ideas for their sessions as well as players interested in understanding the game in more depth.
Mixing coaches and players could create a useful learning environment because participants approached the same situations from different perspectives.
What did a workshop cover?
Each workshop focused on specific areas of the game. Examples included tactics, defending the corners, technical shots and practical drills that could be repeated after the event.
The exact format varied according to the subject, venue and group, but the common theme was practical learning on court.
Current coach education
The workshop programme described above is historical, but coach education remains a core part of The Padel School.
