Archive note: this article looks back during a coach-development visit by The Padel School to Padel Tampere in Finland in 2022. Event dates and booking links from that period are no longer current.

The Inside Story of Our Week at Padel Tampere

The Padel School team travelled to Tampere for a week-long workshop working with coaches and players at Padel Tampere.

During the visit we worked closely with ten coaches, using directed drills, tactical discussions and guided learning to develop both playing level and coaching ability.

To round out the week, more than 100 players took part in clinics led by the local coaches with support from our team.

Three useful lessons from the week

  1. Reflect: after a session, identify one thing that worked and one thing you could improve.
  2. Be open-minded: strong coaches remain coachable themselves and are willing to test new ideas.
  3. Develop together: bringing a coaching team together for shared training can create consistency and give coaches the chance to learn from one another.

The visit was also an early example of something that remains central to The Padel School: helping clubs develop coaches as a connected team rather than as isolated individuals.
