Change The Speed

What is the effect of changing your speed?

From the back of the court

A common issue in padel is that players hit every shot at the same speed. Another is trying to hit the ball too hard and past the opponent. The walls often make those balls less effective because they can rebound back into the court and keep the rally going.

From the back of the court, vary the speed of your shots so you are less predictable. Use pace, lobs and softer balls to create opportunities to regain the net without taking unnecessary risks.

From net position

Mix harder, more direct volleys with softer, more controlled volleys and use different angles. The aim is to be less predictable without increasing your error rate by forcing shots you are not comfortable with.
